The rate of failure for non-CEO level leaders may be even higher. And I know from personal experience that failure can happen. So, using my personal experience and advice from other successful leaders, I recommend specific steps and strategies a client in a new leadership role can take to avoid failure. I like to say I know where the potholes are and will help avoid them.

Usually failure is not due to a lack of ability, but rather a lack of shared understanding of goals and how success will be measured. This is the right place for a new leader to start: getting clarity of their mandate and then identifying quick wins to show momentum and results.
